Packaging

Product Name

What ever is not sold in bulk, is sold in trade packages. If the package is not filled in the presence of the customer / consumer, then it is considered a pre-package. Prepackages are not necessarily small. Think for example of big bags, barrels or cubitainers. For pre-packages, we distinguish between:

• bulk packaging: > 10 kg
• small packaging: ≤ 10 kg

This distinction is defined by the OIML recommendations and E.U. regulations.
There are two options when it comes to packaging a product.
1. Pre-weighing the mass and then filling the package. This is called “net filling”.
2. Filling product directly into the package. This is called “gross filling”.
