    Job Title:  Intern

    Duration of Internship: 4 months


    Representative Responsibilities:

    • Perform assigned tasks under direct supervision of more senior-level engineers or management
    • Research, design and develop hardware & software as directed and with supervision – the specific project is to develop a low power Wheatstone bridge (mV/V) weighing digitizer.
    • Develop software tests and verification procedures
    • May be involved in continuing engineering maintenance and manufacturing floor support of existing products 
    • Provides task completion time estimates.
    • Participates as a team member, works effectively in a team environment
    • Becomes familiar with tools and applications utilized by department
    • Learns department and corporate policies, procedures and plans
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Completes special projects and assignments in a positive and timely manner


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Communication Skills

    • Demonstrates basic written/verbal skills
    • Has good grasp of grammar and sentence structure for technical writing
    • Listens/gives constructive feedback
    • Good group interaction skills
    • Ability to follow directions and project plans

    • Demonstrates ability to solve problems of limited scope and perform root cause analysis
    • Analyzes data using standard, straightforward methods

    Technical Expertise

    • Ability to implement designs for well-defined blocks
    • Understands and applies accepted engineering principles and practices
    • Assists with design or modification of a product, service, or process
    • Working knowledge of software languages (e.g. C, C++)
    • Working knowledge of software development tools (e.g. compilers, debuggers)
    • Working knowledge of software development in PC and/or Real Time Operating Systems


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in electronics and embedded software


    Intern Level Position:

    • As an R&D Intern, this position has had little or no prior exposure to formal R&D engineering processes
    • At this level the employee will work in conjunction with the mentor who will do the following:

    o    The  manager or mentor provides continuing or individual assignments, indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments, including suggested work methods or advise on source material

    o    Manager assures that finished work and methods used are technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures
